April 2011

Quite a good month, with more than average sized fish being caught all round.

The fishing at the start of the month was best close in (up to 40km’s offshore).

The Banks started to produce some great quality fish by mid month and when the ‘Yachties’ came out on the 13th for their night charter they certainly had a few good fish on board.

Chardons was also producing well toward the end of the month with a good variety of reef species being bagged by our customers.

Some of the species caught this month included:

Snapper up to around 4kg, Sweet Lip, Venus Tusk Fish, Maori Cod, Moses Perch , Pearl Perch, Mowong, Amber Jack (as pictured!), Cobia, Scarlet Sea Perch, Coral Trout and the odd Spanish Mackerel.
